Being the leader at a NAMI affiliate can take many forms. Whether you’re on the Board of Directors or an Executive Director, the Program Director or a Family Support Group Facilitator, the Treasurer or a Donor, the mission is the same: to improve the lives of individuals and families challenged by mental illness by influencing public policies, providing up-to-date education and support programs, and increasing public awareness and understanding of mental illness. In this session, hear from leaders of NAMI in Illinois about how they’ve introduced programs to meet their community’s needs, how they successfully find grants to help them grow, how and when to bring on new leadership, and more. This session is an exchange of ideas amongst leaders, regardless of their role in an affiliate, so that we can all continue Making a Commitment to Better Lives for those we serve.
