You Are Not Alone This Holiday Season

NAMI Illinois recognizes that the holidays are supposed to be a time of joy and cheer and gatherings, but for some families the reality can be very different, particularly for those impacted by a mental illness. Our many affiliates have programs and services that can help combat that feeling of being alone, now and throughout the year.

Connection Recovery Support Groups offer those living with a mental illness regular support in a safe, peer-led environment. The majority of the twenty NAMI affiliates in Illinois have at least one Connection group. Click here to find a Connections group near you.

Drop-in centers are open to adults living with mental illness who are looking for an inviting and comfortable place to relax and socialize with their peers:

  • The Kenneth Young Center in Elk Grove Village is open 364 days per year and hosts many activities and fellowship now. Click herefor a complete schedule, including the times of their Connection Recovery Support Groups.
